Kiteskiing and Icebound Houseboats

During our tour of Yellowknife by our gracious hostess K. from Cape Breton, we saw some kiteskiing...look closely at this photo for the parachute in the air - they use this to pull them along on skis!
As well, we saw some of the "houseboats" that are frozen into the ice. My roomie and I plan on walking out to them today if it isn't too frosty out for a walk, and some closer photos. This water is part of the Great Slave Lake, and in a short while, the ice road will be open across it. For now, it's foot traffic and snowmobiles only.
