Moonlit Drive

After the feast tonight, I went for a moonlit drive just out of town. Since there is nowhere to really drive “to” that’s still occupied within 150 kms, I just drove a short ways down the highway and turned around and came back again. But first I parked and opened up the sunroof, and turned off the engine. The stars were amazing just out of town, and the northern lights, though not as bright tonight, were like broad strokes of faded grey paint. Perhaps once the moon goes down, they might be brighter. I think I shall have to make a regular habit of this. There I sat, in the silent night sky, watching this amazing light show. I might have been alone, but the sky was wonderful just the same. I’m really lucky.
